Top news story on todays eclipse in the UK, as the skies emulated living inside a tupperware box, there was no sign of the sun, moon, even the birds stopped flying.
The second part of the news is that Comptom in the view to the right is now listed in the top 50 beaches of the world and considered in the top 15 UK beaches. Compton Bay voted in April as one of Britain’s top 15 beaches by Rough Guide’s Top 15 best UK beaches, now has another accolade being voted in the top 50 world beaches by the Sunday Times travel magazine. Compton Bay lays on the south west of the Isle of Wight with waves from the English Channel pounding on the sand churning up milky froth and spitting salty spray up into your face. From the cliff tops you can watch surfer dudes do their thing or just view Freshwater and Tennyson down in the distance as the island curves around this area of outstanding beauty into the needles. The two mile stretch of coast is a great place for fossil hunting and paragliding. The beach and cliffs in the changing light of the day provides a spectacular geological showcase of changing colours.
